The article discusses the advisability and the general principles of the application of mathematical modeling in the study of the ecology of communities of predatory arthropods. The structure, algorithm of construction and verification of the qualitative adequacy of the mathematical model using the example of studying the dynamics of the arachnids' population taking into account their trophic connections and competitive relations were presented.
